POLITICSBREAKING: Kano gov, Yusuf meets Tinubu amid APC defection moves
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently holding a closed-door meeting with the Governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The development comes amid growing speculation over Yusuf’s alleged plan to defect from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Reports suggest that discussions surrounding the defection have faced setbacks, particularly over demands for an automatic APC governorship ticket ahead of the 2027 elections.
Governor Yusuf’s reported intention to leave the NNPP has dominated political discourse in recent weeks, reportedly fueling tension between his loyalists and supporters of his political mentor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
